Akito the Exiled

7.75 (good) This show was great. Yeah, the end was a bit awkward and a lot of questions remained unanswered. I also hated the clichéd ending (with Shin) and that's why I only rated it 7.75. But I really loved this new plot and these new characters. Some would say that Akito is dull next to Lelouch but they're just different. I don't need another Lelouch. There is only one true Lelouch to me and it's fine. So I love the fact that Akito is so much different. I like Layla too, since she's a smart girl and a charismatic one at that (just see OVA 5).
The biggest problem with Akito the exiled is the plot. Too rich for only 5 OVAs.

5.50 (average) Good ideas but way too clichéd and predictable. This is not the best mecha I saw, far from it. But it's a good anime.
I was just a little fed up with the way they used Asseylum. Too many cliffhangers, kill them.

Bungou Stray Dogs

9.50 (excellent) I just love this show ! Bungou Stray Dog or how can you mix fun and violence without overdoing either of the two ! I had fun, I was scared for Atsushi sometime, and I really, really LOVED Dazai ! Without a doubt, he is my favorite character and I hope we'll learn more about him in the second season.

6.00 (average) Ideas were good, characters seemed promising and I sort of liked the ending but... the anime felt incomplete to me. I never cry. Not once, even when it was supposed to be really sad. Most of the characters were empty shells, especially Nao. And the plot is full of inconsistencies. Big ones at that.
A promising serie but quite botched in the end. What a pity !

3.00 (poor) This is one of the worst show I ever seen. The first episodes were encouraging though, but quickly, it took a turn for the worst. Except for Kaon (at the beginning) and Otto Moto, characters are pretty stupids and most of their acts are complete nonsense (especially Gus and Pack). The anime is also extremely clichèd. So much that when a character die, you feel like laughing instead of crying. A show to forget.

3.50 (below average) This is just bad. Except for 3 or 4 characters (Santa, you're the best), this anime has nothing to please. Music are forgettable, the plot is... inexistant ? Nothing make much sense. But the worst is when the staff tries to pour drama in this farce. It's sooooooo clicléd you feel like laughing instead of crying.

9.50 (excellent) This is the greatest shôjo I ever read. I loved most of the characters (even Tohru at some point) and the plot was really original. I'm really fond of this story. The only thing I didn't like was the end of the anime. No Isuzu, no Kakeru, no Kureno... And NO SECOND SEASON. Why ? T_T

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

Last Updated: Jun 05, 2016

8.00 (good) I begin this anime without knowing anything about it except for the fact that it adapted a light novel. First thing first : it's TRULLY beautiful. The animation is great most of the time and the watercolor backgrounds are really breathtaking. That was one of the best point in this anime. The "slice of life" aspect is very interesting too but way too slow sometimes. As a result, the end of the anime felt rushed and the first episodes were boring at time. So boring that I read the light novel to know more about the Grimgar world. To me, the LN is better in many ways and I still don't understand why some major scenes were modified in the anime.
I like most of the characters except for Ranta. I couldn't stand him for the whole show. But these little things aside, it's a good anime. Except for the OVA which is just good enough for the trash bin.

5.75 (average) It wasn't bad, it wasn't good either. Too clichéd. Most of the characters were... uninteresting. Emile (or rather Emilia) could have been a really good character if she wasn't sooooooooooooo clichéd (who, in their right mind, dress up in the middle of a boy's room while knowing that a man can walk in at any moment ?).

9.50 (excellent) This is one of the best show I saw during spring 2016. The story is a little disjointed but it's easy to understand and, one of the better point, it suprised me ! Especially with episode 11, which was a big slap, but also the best episode of the serie to me. A really good and original serie.

6.75 (above average) A great first season, an average movie and a disappointing second season. That's K project for me. I hope Seven Stories will be better.

Kotonoha no Niwa

9.75 (excellent) I'm not a big fan of Shinkai's works. Most of the time, his movies are utterly beautiful but the plot itself is dull, tasteless. It's not the case in Kotonoha no Niwa. I really like the idea and the fact that these two people help each other in the form of an unspoken promise. The promise to come in the park every rainy day. I love this poetic side of the movie. The only problem for me is the end. I just want to see more of it. Just a bit more.

My Neighbor Totoro

9.50 (excellent) I made a terrible mistake with this movie : I was adult when I watched it. I wasn't thrilled while watching it as I would have been as a kid. Still, I like this movie for two things : Totoro (I just want a giant plush of it to sleep on it's belly) and the music. Probably one of the more beautiful music in a Ghibli movie.

10.00 (excellent) This is a masterpiece. Drawings are so beautiful that they looks like pictures. And the story is an original one, with so much work behind it that I can't help but be amazed. Probably one of the best manga I ever read.

9.75 (excellent) One of my favorite Ghibli. I watched it countless times without getting tired of it. San and Ashitaka are really good characters and I love their relationship (the end of the movie just kill me but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one). The movie is violent but very poetic too. Musics are trully beautiful and I can listen them for hours.

5.00 (moderate) I really, really tried to see it because I really like Key's works usually. But I couldn't. I couldn't bear most of the characters, except maybe for Kotori and Haruhiko. Kotarou is simply way too clichéd and borring for me. The other two are clichéd as well but... they're sort of cute, so it's good.

9.50 (excellent) This is a very original mecha, one of the few where I litteraly like the mech itself. Chamber, you're the best.
I like the fact that the TV show didn't turn around war but, instead, around peace. An original subject for a mecha where war is usually the core of the serie and peace, a far away dream. Here, we followed Red (or Ledo if you prefer), a yougster who lived in space and whose only purpose in life is to fight until he drop dead or until he is old enough to have babies. But everything changed when he (accidentally) landed on Earth and discovered a peaceful civilisation. I really like to see him learn to live like a true human being. The show turn out to be mode a slice of life than a real mecha but I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Probably one of my favorites shows even if there is some plots holes here and there.

Tales of Symphonia

Last Updated: Apr 10, 2016

7.00 (above average) Tales of Symphonia is one of my favorite game (if not my favorite) but "disappointment" is the first thing that came in mind when I think about ufotable's OVAs.

I really, really liked the Sylvarant part. It was truthful to the game for most of the part and the story made sense. Musics were.... truly beautiful and I liked the chara-design. The only bad point was : too short. Only 4 OVAs, it's way too short.

The Tethe'alla part was.... good but, here again, too short ! They tried to compress several hours of game with a lot of revelations, in 4 shorts OVAs. Everything felt rushed as a result. Additions could have been a good idea with some more OVAs to develop them (like for Zélos' past which was only mention in the game).

The Reunited World arc was the WORST. Most of the additions were useless, a lot of things didn't make sense at all (what happenned to Lloyd vs Kratos and the meaning behind it ?). The end was... not what I expected (those who read the manga or played the game should know what I mean).

The anime really disappointed me in more ways than one, but I still like the game and the manga. The story was so good. That's why I rate this 7 as a whole even if the anime is not really good by itself.

7.50 (good) The rating might change sometime in the futur since the TV show is not aired yet. I only played the game and saw the OVA.
First of all, the OVA. It was good for an introduction, even if the end seemed a little off (they're throwing a party after what happens to Mason...).
The story of the game was really good (one of my favorite in the Tales of universe). I like Sorey, Mikleo, Edna, Zaveid.... Everyone in fact, except for Alisha (she's just too naive for her own good) and Lailah (she knows too much but tell very little).
The only issue (but it's a big one) was the gameplay. It's totally unpleasant to play sometime and it really can ruins your fun. It was really disappointing and that's why I rate this 7.5.
